Kingston Pen Standard Tour 2023

Step inside the walls of Canada’s oldest penitentiary and explore the living and working areas, some dating back to the 1830s.  Hear the personalized accounts from former staff and learn about the history and the daily routines, including stories of escapes, riots and everything in between on this 1.5-hour guided tour.

Every guest must have a ticket including children 0-4. Those 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled tour time as washroom usage and filling out paperwork on site must be done before the tour begins. Tours begin promptly at the scheduled time and guests will be required to stay with their guides.

Guests should be prepared for the tour by wearing appropriate footwear for indoor, outdoor and uneven surfaces and are encouraged to bring an umbrella if desired for protection from rain or sun. Tour routes cover indoor and outdoor spaces and operate in a variety of weather conditions.  Please be prepared for conditions on the day of your tour.
