Fort Henry Fall Programming

Daily Fall Programming includes a 50 minute guided tour which leaves every hour from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, with the final tour leaving at 3:30 pm. In addition, one can explore over 30 historical rooms / museum exhibits. The fort is open 7 days a week from September 5th through to October 9th. Operating hours are from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, with the last tickets sold at 4:00 pm. Proceed to Mrs. Henry’s Treatshop upon arrival at Fort Henry for check in and site map pick up.

Kingston Pen Express Tour

This fully accessible 45 minute guided tour offers an introductory experience of Kingston Penitentiary. You will visit many of the highlights of the institution, including the North Gate, a cell range, the canteen and social services area to hear about the 1971 riot, and more. This tour contains subject matter designated for a mature audience - parental discretion is advised. Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the scheduled tour time as early access will not be granted. Guests will be required to stay with their guides. Guests should be prepared for the tour by wearing appropriate footwear for indoor, outdoor and uneven surfaces and are encouraged to bring an umbrella if desired for protection from rain or sun. This 2.5-hour tour covers the Standard Tour content as well as a more in-depth look behind the walls exploring the history of Kingston Penitentiary and Regional Treatment Centre.  Discover more of the site and hear about the history of additional areas, such as the hospital, gymnasium, and school.  With smaller group sizes the Extended Tour provides greater opportunity to connect with retired corrections staff and tour guides. This tour is designed for a mature audience and recommended for guests of 12 years of age and up. Those 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. If a child 11 and under must attend the tour, please make a note in the special requirements field below. Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the scheduled tour time as early access will not be granted.
